How much water to drink each day and when is recommended to drink water...

Without , life here on Earth wouldn't be possible. Water makes up about 70% of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water.

An important role of water is to carry nutrients to your cells. Therefore, the lack of water can lead shortly to dehydration.

Dehydration is a condition that usually occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out the most basic of functions. When dehydrated, you are feeling tired, drained out of energy and you find it rather difficult to concentrate.

So, how much water should you drink every day to prevent that from happening?

How Much Water to Drink Each Day

How much water to drink every day depends on your health, how active you are and where you live but, in general, doctors recommend 8 cups a day. That means that you should drink at least 2 liters of water each day for your body to function properly. Why?

Because you lose about one liter (4 cups) of water every day through breathing, sweating and movement, and your body also eliminates about 1.5 liters (6 cups) of urine, the lost fluids must be replaced or dehydration will occur. Of course, if you also exercise (less than an hour), drink an additional 2 cups. If you're pregnant, you need to drink 10 cups daily and if you're breast-feeding, 13 cups (3 liters).

Although it's generally a good idea to keep water within reach at all times, you don't need to rely only on it exclusively to meet your fluid needs. Food also provides a significant amount of water. Also, don't use thirst alone as a guide for when to drink water or, by the time you become thirsty, you may already be slightly dehydrated. Even more, it is a well known fact that, as you get older your body is less sensitive to dehydration and won't send your brain signals of thirst.
