Set in the year 2018 in a post-apocalyptic California, in Terminator Salvation The Future Begins John Connor is the man. Should we just stop at is the man or should we continue? Anyway, future Connor has no other choice than to lead the human resistance against Skynet, an advanced artificial intelligence, and its army of evil Terminators. The credits start rolling and... Hey! Where's the awesome Terminator theme we all came to love?
And the movie begins with a Hans Zimmer rip-off. Ignoring this, the interesting part is that in Terminator Salvation The Future Begins Connor takes orders from a guy in a sub. Some people believe in John Connor's prophecy and others don't. Just for the record, we don't either. Nevertheless, this is of no importance, as John is still the man, a married one that is, with Kate, having a baby and secretly searching the pockets of survivors for Kyle Reese, the man who will become his father. So far, pretty 'deep' stuff, isn't it? To get on with our story, we find John making periodic radio transmissions telling people to... stay alive. Seriously, he asks people to stay alive, because there is still hope.
Meanwhile, a convicted murderer under the appearance of Marcus Wright awakens to a completely changed world. "Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past" quotation from Warner Bros. Huh? As you can see in the following official Terminator 4 Trailer Marcus seems to be a... toaster of sorts, so the element of surprise was pretty much ruined.
Despite your expectations, Wright is pretty much the focus of Terminator 4 movie and looks like your very own anti-Terminator Terminator, but we won't tell anyway. You will just have to watch the movie and see for yourself. We will only state that Marcus is a more human character than Bale's John Connor is.
Worth mentioning is the surprisingly strong performance of Anton Yelchin, playing the young Kyle Reece (John Connor's dad) in Terminator Salvation The Future Begins. The only complaint we have is that the writers tried somehow to recreate the Schwarzenegger / Connor rapport between him and Worthington, and failed big time.
As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the likely annihilation of Mankind. Cylon redemption deja-vu anyone?
Overall, Terminator Salvation The Future Begins is a great action movie with lots of robotic performers, but you will most likely feel like something's missing, and it's not just Arnold. Hehe, maybe if they had thrown in a Joker Terminator, things would have ended differently for Christian Bale. Even if the Terminator 4 movie is being killed by critics as we speak, we think that is a solid movie loaded with non-stop action sequences and impressive FX, such as the epic scene with the harvester robot.

Anyway, if you're a fan of the classic James Cameron franchise, this is one movie you can't afford to miss; as it is obviously much better than Terminator 3 with its lame version of John Connor, who fucked his destiny from the very start of the movie.
